I started out my life in Taiwan. It is a small island country in the Asia-Pacific region.
My family moved to the United States when I was just a little kid.
I entered third grade school knowing only three words of English: Yes, No, and Jerry. Because
I was so young, I adapted very quickly. In just one year, I acquired a good command of the English language.
After surviving through high school, I was accepted into the computer science program at
California State University, Northridge (CSUN).
I also attended
Los Angeles Pierce College (LAPC) at the same time.
I earned an A.S. degree in Computer Programming from LAPC and a B.S. degree in Computer Science from CSUN.
While I was in college I started my own computer consulting company, Direct Logic Systems. A few years later, the company had transformed its focus from consultation to
software development. It was during this time, with the dot com and Internet explosion, that the
DirectLogic.com web site was born. Soon afterwards, I quit my full time job at SDI to pursue my goal of running a successful company.
A few years ago, I started a new company called AntiRebate. In a short time, this new company is bringing in
more income than Direct Logic Systems currently. AntiRebate is an Internet shopping web site that concentrates on finding the
best online deals without the hassles of mail-in rebates. AntiRebate has been mentioned on NBC News, PC Magazine, PC World Magazine, Komo Radio, and about a dozen newspapers.
I have been living in Las Vegas since early 2003.
I've been to Las Vegas many times before moving here. But like most people, I thought Las Vegas is just about gambling
and casinos and never ventured past the Las Vegas Strip. Little did I know there is so much more outside of The Strip.
For starters, there is the very scenic
Red Rock Canyon State Park. Only 45 minutes away is Mount Charleston
where there is skiing in the winter and hiking and mountain biking in the summer. 30 minutes away in the other direction is Lake Mead where one
can go water skiing, boating, fishing and tour the majestic Hoover Dam.
You can't beat Las Vegas for the large number of entertainment venues.
I go see the bands The Spazmatics, Boogie Knights, Yellow Brick Road, M-80s, Metalshop and Underground Rebels quite often. Of course there are the big name entertainers at the big casinos/hotels.
I am very happy living in Las Vegas and I've made a lot new friends.
My old friends from Los Angeles do come visit every now and then. Las Vegas is one of those places that
everyone eventually will come for a visit; Sort of like Disneyland.
